 What are Eyelash Extensions?

  • A Classic Lash extension service is a signature lash application where the attachment of 1 extension is applied to 1 natural eyelash. The result is an enhanced lash line with a natural and realistic appearance. Classic Lashes are recommended to those who want their lashes to look beautiful yet natural.

  • Two popular extension services are Classic and Volume (also referred to as Russian Volume). There are three types of lash extension materials: synthetic, silk and mink.

  • A full consultation is done before the application process starts and the appropriate style & length is discussed.

  • Typically, a full set of Classic lashes takes approximately two hours to apply. More time is usually needed for a Volume set. Once they are on, the lashes can be maintained throughout the year with periodic touch-ups (recommended every two to four weeks depending on lifestyle choices).

  • Eyelash Extensions do NOT hurt, if safely applied. Each individual lash is intricately placed one at a time onto your natural lashes. Essentially the application is flawless, however, opening your eyes before you're instructed to may cause redness and irritation to the eyeball from fumes produced by the adhesive. This is way keeping eyes closed the entire time is required.

  • Sensitivities and allergic reactions to lash adhesives can happen. Having a patch test at least 24hrs before booking a service is allows recommended. Additionally having a lash service performed the day of or the day before a special event is not ideal.

  • Properly trained estheticians and certified, experienced eyelash extension artists will NOT damage your lashes.

  • Mascara can be worn if it’s water based or specifically formulated for lash extensions. Do not use oil-based or waterproof mascara. Waterproof mascara or any type of oil-based mascara can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions.

  • As with your hair, using a silk pillowcase will do the least damage to your eyelashes and extensions. If good adhesive is used and proper technique is applied, eyelash extensions are made to stay safely adhered to you natural lashes until they shed. If you have a tendency to sleep on your stomach or cover you eyes with a mask, blanket or pillow, it will decrease the life of you lash extensions.

  • Proper after care/ home care practices are discussed and key to keeping beautiful, healthy Lashes!!!
