    What clients are saying....

Honestly, for quite a while I had been on the hunt for a realiable & consistant esthetitician to do my brows. I was never happy  with services I'd recieved from different salons in the past. I found Brooke & my brows are finally in the best shape, length & flatter my face. The online self-scheduler is really convenient too. Finally SUPER HAPPY!!!

Brooke does my brazilians and they're to perfection! The skin down there always looks great after & the hair is becoming finer and more sparse!

I get to wake up like this every morning?! Uuuhhh....Sweet! My eyelashes always look gorgeous and cut down on the time it takes to get ready in the morning. Seriously can't live without them!

   You Are...

A Thing-of-Beauty

HI gorgeous,

First I’d like to start by saying…I am an Aveda Institute graduate, a current WA. State licensed esthetician and Lash Artist, With a current WA. state Business license and insurance!  There are many who claim to have proper training & hold a business license but infact do not. Accidents can and do happen! For your own safety & protection you should always see that the person/business  you are receiving services from has all it’s credentials current & available for you to see. I am a professional and always keep up to date with state laws and health & saftey regulations with continued education for my business and most importantly for my clients who put their trust in my hands....literally!

I specialize in a variety of spa services. THOUGH, THESE DAYS my FOCUS Is GIVING CLIENTS BEAUTIFUL SETS OF HEALTHY, GORGEOUS, EYELASH EXTENSIONS and PROVIDing SUGARING-hair removal services. i ENJOY educating My Clients on hair growth cycles for efficient hair removal scheduling and/or  lash extension APPlication & timing of touch up serviceS. I will teach you how to care for treated areas pre and post service & As your esthetician specialist I will keep up to date records on our appt. achievements, concerns & results. Also, any product preferences and favorite treatment experiences you have will be noted to ensure the most pleasant session together every time.

in the PAST I provided in-home Spa treatment services. Residents in the Seattle area receiveD a professional spa experiance like you would at an actual spa, but IN THE PRIVACY OF THEIR HOME.  Upon arrival I wOULD set up a treatment table in the room of There choice. After a thorough consulation &  better understanding of THEir needs I would design a treatment plan just for Them. We'd discuss things like skin type, texture, condition and sensitivity, as well as, hair texture, density and pain tolerance if we were going to be removing hair. prior to a service I would often include an aroma sensory journey with essential oils to aid in relaxation...was truly A rewarding experience!

I started my business, A-Thing-of Beauty, after having taken care of my mother who unfortunately suffered with Alzheimer’s disease for years. Beauty and skincare were always something she and I absolutly loved sharing together when I grew up. She always fascinated me with her long relaxing candle lit baths, bright red nail polish, diy boxed hair dye & perms, foot scrubs and face masks. All right there in our tiny apartment bath-room, no spa needed! In my eyes she always made it look fabulous. by the age of 5 my girlfriends knew coming over to "play" really meant --hair, makeup, dress-up and maybe even a little haircut for the lucky one! Fast forward 25 years and sadly mom's health starts to decline, She became not so mobile and taking her out somewhere for regular beauty care needs became a major challenge to say the least.

Fortunately though, fait would have it that i'd become an esthetician. I’d come home from beauty school and ask mom.. " are you ready for some pamering girlfriend?" In her most excited voice & raised brows, she'd always say..."yes!, oh boy!" Her excitment in anticipation for what was to come still makes me giggle. I'd set up a mock treatment room & depending on her needs I'd go to town. I'd talk to her about all the new service techniques & wonderful smelling products I had learned about that day, (She was my litle genie pig :) With her beautiful smile &, with what little words she had left she'd always let me know how much she enjoyed getting A spa experience right there in the comfort of our living room. Mom allowing me to participate in her regular beauty care routines from such a young age, without a doubt, is what inspired me to study estheology at Aveda. If not for her, I wouldn't have my appreciation for all things beauty, my innate gentle touch and a natural compassion & caring for others. Mom eventually went home to be with the Lord in heaven and I miss her dearly!!! Though, the bitter-sweet experience left me feeling I wanted to help others in the same way. I thought to myself how awesome would it be to give my clients the same experience!... A more private and individualized, one on one experience, without the waiting room.that  my lovely's, is how my mobile-spa,  A-Thing-of-Beauty, was conceived!!

Sincerely, Brooke

 What are Eyelash Extensions?

  • A Classic Lash extension service is a signature lash application where the attachment of 1 extension is applied to 1 natural eyelash. The result is an enhanced lash line with a natural and realistic appearance. Classic Lashes are recommended to those who want their lashes to look beautiful yet natural.

  • popular extension services are Classic, Hybrid & Volume (also referred to as Russian Volume). There are three types of lash extension materials: synthetic, silk and mink.

  • A full consultation is done before the application process starts and the appropriate style & length is discussed.

  • Typically, a full set of Classic lashes takes approximately two hours to apply. More time is usually needed for a Hybrid or Volume set. Once they are on, the lashes can be maintained throughout the year with periodic touch-ups (recommended every two to four weeks depending on lifestyle choices).

  • Eyelash Extensions do NOT hurt, if safely applied. Each individual lash is intricately placed one at a time onto your natural lashes. Essentially the application is flawless, however, opening your eyes before you're instructed to may cause redness and irritation to the eyeball from fumes produced by the adhesive. This is way keeping eyes closed the entire time is required.

  • Sensitivities and allergic reactions to lash adhesives can happen. Having a patch test at least 24hrs before booking a service is allows recommended. Additionally having a lash service performed the day of or the day before a special event is not ideal.

  • Properly trained estheticians and certified, experienced eyelash extension artists will NOT damage your lashes.

  • Mascara can be worn if it’s water based or specifically formulated for lash extensions. Do not use oil-based or waterproof mascara. Waterproof mascara or any type of oil-based mascara can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions.

  • As with your hair, using a silk pillowcase will do the least damage to your eyelashes and extensions. If good adhesive is used and proper technique is applied, eyelash extensions are made to stay safely adhered to you natural lashes until they shed. If you have a tendency to sleep on your stomach or cover you eyes with a mask, blanket or pillow, it will decrease the life of you lash extensions.

  • Proper after care/ home care practices are discussed and key to keeping beautiful, healthy Lashes!!!
